When My Name Was Keoko: Did You Like It?
In class, we read the book When My Name Was Keoko for a while, and finally finished it after about 4 months. It was about a two siblings named Sun-hee and Tae-yul and from their perspectives, they talk about their lives while living under occupation from the Japanese. Already, from this paragraphed sentence, I seem interested in the book, and I was right. This book is very realistic and descriptive. I was impressed about how suspenseful the book is. I think the most interesting and action-packed part of the book is when Tae-yul decided to become a kamikaze for the Japanese. It was also very emotional because after he wrote a letter to his family, Omoni became devastated and wore a mourning dress every day. I liked this book a lot, even more than I thought I would.

Visualizing: When My name was Keoko
A few things I visualized in When My Name was Keoko is:
- Tae-yul's uniform in his kamikaze mission
- The emotion on Omoni's face after Tae-yul's letter
- Tae-yul's expression after his last meal

5 questions: When My Name Was Keoko
- Is Tae-Yul working with his uncle for the resistance?
- What happened to the persimmons Omoni gave Tae-Yul?
- What is Tae-Yul's plan to fight the Japanese while being kamikaze
- Will Tae-Yul give Sun-Hee more clues in his letters?
- Why is Sun-Hee's dad so calm about Tae-Yul's situation?
